We were asked to undertake the sensitive restoration of Dollar Street House, an elegant Grade II* listed property in the heart of Cirencester. This distinguished 18th-century building had stood empty for over a decade, falling into a serious state of disrepair.
Our brief was to gently renovate the former four-storey office building into three separate townhouses, each offering unique, character filled living spaces finished to a high standard. The renovation demanded a respectful approach to the building’s heritage, preserving and enhancing its original charm.
Throughout the extensive works, we brought many of the period features back to life, including the original flagstone flooring, windows, doors and the impressive Georgian staircase, which now stands as centrepieces within one of the homes.
As part of the transformation, private landscaped gardens were established, designed to complement the historic architecture. These were expertly executed by Cotswold Landscape Construction, commissioned by our client.
We worked in close collaboration with the client and architect Charles Mullineaux Design, ensuring every detail aligned with the vision to breathe new life into this important piece of Cirencester’s architectural heritage.
